Biography

Dr. Asif Imran is a faculty at University at Buffalo who is committed to empowering students to achieve their full potential through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. His teaching philosophy centers on fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and practical skills that prepare students for real-world challenges. In research, Dr. Imran focuses on green software engineering, exploring ways to make code, especially that generated by large language models, more energy-efficient. He is also interested in cloud computing energy optimization, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of modern computing systems. Dr. Imran’s work bridges education and research, striving to cultivate both student success and sustainable computing practices.
